Layla Law-Gisiko, a Chelsea Democratic district leader, said: “Whether you are for or against this project, due process must be paramount. NYCHA is acting as a slumlord, using the court to intimidate tenants who simply want to end their lives in their homes; deploying these tactics in the Thanksgiving season is beyond cruel, an affront to any notion of public service or common decency.”
